This is an authentic 19th-century campaign-style chest, likely designed as a tantalus or apothecary case. It features a distinctive dome-top lid and is constructed from mahogany with original brass strapping and corner reinforcements. The piece shows a rich, aged patina consistent with its Victorian origins (circa 1870–1890). It includes a functional side handle and a central locking latch with a working padlock and key.
