1930s Staples No. 30 Divan Single Bed with Convertible Table Headboard

Original British-made Staples No. 30 Divan dating from the 1930s, with the maker’s Royal Warrant label stating “Wire Mattress and Bedstead Manufacturers to His Majesty The King.” It retains its original sprung wire mattress support with Noiseless “Silex” cords and patent label. The most unusual feature is the large shaped headboard, which folds forward on its timber supports to convert into a table. The wooden frame has a dark polished finish and the bed is in very good vintage condition, especially considering its age. A rare surviving piece of British bedroom furniture with its original fittings and labels still present. Mattress not included. 195 x 79 cm
