Antique Edwardian Mahogany 3 Tier Folding Cake Stand

Antique Edwardian three-tier cake stand in mahogany, dating from around the early 1900s. It has three circular recessed wooden tiers supported by a tall shaped frame, with a turned carrying handle at the top and gently splayed feet. The tiers are designed to fold upwards so the stand can be stored more easily when not in use. Originally made for serving cakes and afternoon tea, these stands also work very well today for displaying plants, ornaments or decorative plates. The design and construction closely match genuine Edwardian folding cake stands from around 1900–1920. In good antique condition with the expected light marks and wear from age and previous use. 27 x 90 cm
