Antique cast iron sad iron with an ornate floral-patterned base and substantial brass handle. A decorative original period piece with a lovely aged patina to both the iron and brass, giving it plenty of character. The underside carries a raised registered design number, which adds further interest for collectors. These heavy irons were originally heated for pressing clothes and are now popular as decorative antiques, bookends or doorstops.
