Mid-to-late 19th-century brass hearth trivet with an ornate pierced Celtic-style design, four raised feet and a turned dark wooden handle. Originally used beside the fireplace to support a hot kettle or cooking vessel. Solid and complete, with aged patina, tarnishing and some verdigris underneath from many years of use. 28 x 17 cm
